When I started my singer/songwriter journey three years ago, me and my ukulele (my ukulele and I) stepped out on the Trinity House Theater in front of an audience of 30-some strangers -- members of Songwriters Anonymous. Song Anon is a community of songwriters in Michigan, the brainchild of singer/songwriter Annie Capps the Annie part of the duo, Rod and Annie Capps. Anyway, it was there I squeaked out my first public performance, stumbling over strings and lyrics. I don't know what they all thought, but they applauded just the same. A lot of those strangers are people whom I now call friends. My band came from among them. And for them I thank my lucky, lucky stars.
